The South-East Asia Biographical Archive has roughly 85,000 entries on approximatley 55,000 people. It is an important resource on the history and significant people of the region. Both the colonial period and independence movements are included. The Archive covers Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar (Burma), Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.
An online index is available at the K.G. Saur Web site www.saur-wbi.de. The archives themselves are available in a microfiche collection held in the Microform Collection on the 1st floor of Alden Library under the Call Number SEA CT1592.S68 1997x. The biographical entries are written in various languages, but 10,000 entries also include English abstracts.
