Located at the Missouri School of Journalism, Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that seeks to improve the quality of investigative journalism.

Aimed at journalists, journalism educators, and journalism students, IRE provides resources, training and information designed to foster and support a network of investigative reporters.

Some areas of the website are restricted to IRE members. Journalism students and educators are encouraged to join IRE.
