Includes a unique range of antiquarian maps and online exhibits which document European expansion throughout the world during the years 1400-1800 CE.

The James Ford Bell Library at the University of Minnesota, holds a valuable, albeit rather limited, collection of historical maps of East and Southeast Asia, particularly island Southeast Asia, most dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. Mapmakers include: Ortelius, Speed, Mercator, Sanson, Allard, Homann, Bering, Plancius, and Lodewijcksz.
