A catalogue of books printed between 1871 and 1919. "British books are taken to include all books published in Britain, its colonies and the United States of America; all books in English wherever published; and all translations from English."

The NTSTC has been prepared from the in-house and published catalogues of eight different libraries: The Bodleian Library at Oxford, the University Library at Cambridge, the Trinity College Clibrary in Dublin, the National Library of Scotland in Edinburgh, the Harvard University Library, the British Library in London, the University Library in Newscastle, and the Library of Congress in Washington, D.C.

This is the third series of a larger project that includes 1801 - 1870. The first two series are shelved in the Alden Library Reference Department under the call number Ref. Z2001 .N55 1984 x.
