Searchable database of American newspapers with information about newspapers from 1690 to the present, and selective digitization of historic pages.

The Newspaper Directory lists bibliographic information about Amemrican newspapers from 1690 to the present.

The Search Pages part of the database contains scanned full text images of selected newspapers. At the moment (Spring 2007), this section contains only a few newspapers from 1900-1910; eventually it will include "historically significant newspapers from all the states and U.S. territories published between 1836 and 1922."
