Indexes approximately 900 journals and the ERIC document collection; covers the field of education and related fields such as communications.
Here is an
alternate version of ERIC. This version is available to Ohio University students, faculty, and staff; off-campus users will need to login to complete access. It has the same content and links to full-text, but lacks a good thesaurus.
Those holding library cards from any public library in Ohio can also find this version of ERIC by clicking on Research Databases at http://www.oplin.lib.oh.us/. It can also be found at any public school in Ohio by clicking on EBSCO databases at http://www.infohio.org. Be aware that although there's a lot of full-text available through the public library and school versions, there's not as much full text as is available through either OhioLINK version.
For those not affiliated with a public library, school, or university in Ohio, there is a free version of ERIC at www.eric.ed.gov. This version has very little full text.
Most ERIC documents since 1993 can be retrieved electronically by clicking on Find a Copy within the ERIC database. Hint: to retrieve a specific ERIC document by number, turn off the thesaurus and enter the ERIC document number on the top line of the ERIC database.
ERIC documents from 1966-1992 are only available in microfiche on the first floor of Alden Library. (Most ERIC documents from 1993-2003 are available both electronically and on microfiche.)
