A closed file database that is no longer (as of June 30, 2006) being updated, which provides access, much of it full-text, to global information on women, from periodicals and other resources. (Currently maintained databases on Women's Studies include Women's Studies International and Gender Studies Database.

Cross-discipline--including sociology, psychology, health, education, business administration, and political science-- information on women in over 190 countries is compiled in this resource. Journals, newsletters, and research reports from non-profit groups, the government, and international agencies can be accessed.

Mainstream periodicals, nontraditional periodical resources and the alternative press are all covered by Contemporary Women's Issues, but all have been identified by leading professionals in women's issues and women's studies as worthy of inclusion.

Also includes guides, factsheets, pamphlets, proceedings, surveys and statistical data on a range of women's issues.
